My thoughts so far by Moisty

After last season I didn’t think I could bring myself to write a blog so I took a bit of time out otherwise it would have just been one big rant about overpaid prima donnas and a certain Welshman that rhymes with Mike Hunt, I think you all know who I am talking about. But after a number of them departing sadly only on loan it means the rest of the squad that want to play in the blue and white hoops could get down to business for a challenging Championship campaign.

Some new faces have come in though and Harry seems to be doing the Warnock way by bringing in the bread and butter players that will get the job done and back to the top flight. Gary O' Neil and Karl Henry have been very impressive since signing, both strong in midfield, just what you need in the Championship and with Joey Barton staying, the centre of midfield looks so strong.  On deadline day three more players joined; Benoit Ekotto from Spurs, Thomas Carroll from Spurs and Niko Kranjcar from Dynamo Kiev. All on loan but all have very good experience and the exciting young talent of Thomas Carroll adds another bit of spark to the midfield.

With these additions the formation may have to change in my eyes, with Clint Hill being the club captain and impressing game in and game out, Harry may have to resort to a three at the back, with Ekotto and Simpson playing wingbacks, both quick enough and like to attack. Then three holding midfields Henry, Barton  and a choice of Faurlin/Kranjcar or Carroll and up top Johnson and Austin with Zamora and Hitchcock as backup.

Defence also looks very solid with Dunne joining on a year's contract with a view to signing another year is a massive coup with all his experience the Ireland international adds so much depth to a strong defence with Nedum Onouha being QPR’s best player so far, he hasn’t really put a foot wrong and looks like a rock at the back.

I know it's early days but the recent form we are in looks like we could be possibly returning to the Premier League but the next few games will decide that as you have to try and get a sequence of results together picking up points on the road and making your home ground a fortress.  I just have a very strong feeling about how the squad looks, it looks together, when we score you can see what it means to the squad. If only we had Harry at the start of our Premier League campaign, but we can't talk like that can we, let's concentrate on the now.

This is only a quick blog on my views so far, be sure to see many more..
