Kevin Griffin's thoughts on the Villa game

QPR 1 – 1 Aston Villa

In a game where both teams sparked up some entertaining football, Queens Park Rangers have the right to feel hard done by. QPR dominated the game in every way, the amount of shots, shots on target, clearing their lines etc. Jamie Mackie once again shone in comparison to most of the players, despite them playing really well. He earned his reward with a superb headed equaliser which lofted to the left corner, just out of Guzan's reach on the 18th minute. In fairness to Aston Villa, they defended superbly. There looked to be no way through or any clear-cut chances for the R’s as the game wore on. Villa took the lead in the 8th minute with an unstoppable strike from just outside the area from Holman. Despite Green getting a touch to it, the sheer power of the shot was just enough to reach the back of the net. QPR had the chance to win the game when Park was put through one on one with Guzan but a fantastic stop denied the Korean's effort.

Through the reign of Mark Hughes this season, the players seemed to be unmotivated and lacked the heart to do anything. The fans just could not see where the next win was coming. Now that 'Arry is in charge, a number of players have been dedicated to improving. I think SWP has had a good couple of games under Redknapp, he seems to have a lot more heart and goes for it. He proved this with two great chances to score, being denied by the keeper and the post.

My MOTM is Jamie Mackie this week, with his sheer determination to win, he shows his intent. The next win must be round the corner!
