Kevin Griffin; D-Month Match 2 – Wigan Away

                                                                                          QPR

Harry Redknapp will be hoping for his first win as QPR boss against Wigan. Last season, QPR lost 2-0 at the DW. Franco Di Santo's two deflected goals were enough to defeat a lazy QPR. In the past two matches, QPR have maintained a consistent record of two draws, which some feel has steadied the boat. Unfortunately, QPR's abysmal away record has been a thorn in the side of both club and supporter. A win here would be seen as a massive boost to QPR's season, a win and an away one at that.

                                                                                     Wigan Athletic

Wigan enjoyed a fantastic start to the season. However, recently their form has been up and down. It is typical of Wigan to have a brilliant start and a brilliant end to the season, so maybe mid-season is the best time to have a go. In their last match, they suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Newcastle United with Maynor Figueroa being sent off. A loss against QPR could see Wigan drift into the relegation places.

My Prediction

With Harry's first win still due, I can see this swinging in QPR's favour. It will be a very frustrating match to watch. Wigan will no doubt go gung ho against us and will get a goal for their troubles. QPR will grab a goal on the counter attack to make it 1-1 at half time; goals from Franco di Santo and Esteban Granero. It will finish 2-1 to QPR with Djibril Cisse smashing one home after being subbed on, assisted by Jamie Mackie around the 80th minute to give QPR their first away victory in some time.
